A Starbucks with no water and a Subway with no bread

One of the things that I have learned in Southeast Asia is that it is perfectly normal to walk into a place of business and be calmly told that they do not have a specific item.  This once again has happened as in the past few days, I have watched Subway, a chain known for only making sandwiches, turned away customers for a lack of bread, and I am currently sitting in a Starbucks that does not have any water.
Meaning they have absolutely no coffee whatsoever...
These things are normal and honestly you totally get used to the idea that you might be going to a place not carry something that is vital to achieving the purpose of said business.
Oh well.
Still, we met a nice person who worked there and are currently leeching off of the free wifi.
